Leonardo Ruiz

Founder & Executive Director

As founder and CEO of Ciudad de Refugio Huancayo, Leonardo Ruiz is committed to transforming the lives of his community members. He began working in Huancayo giving principles of life and nutrition to children with limited economic resources in dysfunctional families about 17 years ago, with the mission of bringing light, hope and transformation in the community of El Tambo – Huancayo.

“When I was a teenager I witnessed a very great injustice to a very poor family, at that moment I asked God: “Please, when I grow up, allow me to be of help to those who have less.” Today that desire is a reality through Ciudad de Refugio Huancayo. Thanks God!.”

Melania Quispe

Educational area Coordinator.

Educator with postgraduate studies in Educational Management, she has worked in different public and private educational institutions both in Lima and Huancayo. She has more than 20 years of experience working with pre-adolescents and adolescents.

“For my City of Refuge Huancayo represents a space of blessing in the service to others that by vocation I assume for a culture of peace.”

Ana Muñasqui

Physical Health area Coordinator.

Pharmaceutical Chemist graduated from the Franklin Roosevelt Private University of Huancayo, she completed her internship in one of the largest hospitals in Peru, Edgardo Rebagliati Martins, she worked in Lima for the company 3M in the area of quality control of medical equipment, she is currently working in a private clinic in Huancayo.

“I feel very privileged to be part of Ciudad de Refugio Huancayo and to be able to serve those who have less and put my profession to those people who have some health need.”

Susi Huillcas

Emotional Health area Coordinator.

Susi studied her bachelor’s degree at the Hermilio Valdizan University, specialized in the area of Organizational Psychology, took specialization courses and diplomas in community mental health, psychoeducational care for children with autism, educational support for students with different abilities, the profile of the psychology in the fight against violence and among others.

“Being part of Ciudad de Refugio is an opportunity that God gives me to be able to help those who need it with a heart of service without seeking anything in return. “Of grace we receive and of grace we give.”
